Welcome to the 101. Where we spend at least two precious hours a day. Here is a list of my favorite things about the carpool1. Eating my cheerios covered in berries and then leaving my dishes in the car for weeks.
2. Finding my missing dishes under the (surprisingly) spacious front seats
3. Swerving into traffic while flipping off drivers who do not follow the correct 'zipper' protocol when merging.
4. NPR
5. Revisiting last night's drunken antics with the witnesses
6. Seeing what dangerous things people do while driving in other cars. (my favorite: some guy in a truck had his laptop on the steering wheel and was selecting itunes songs)
7. Falling asleep by the Cesar Chavez exit, then waking up as we pull on in.
8. Getting to leave work early whenever anyone in the carpool "has to get into town early tonight"
9. Dave saying things like "do you ever think about the fact that we're hurling through space right now?"
